To the WEST side, to a deluxe apartment in the skyyyyy…
My friend decided she wanted to make the move to West Hollywood before (God forbid) she got any sicker from her chemo treatments. We looked at a few places, and next thing you know, we found it. I didn’t know much about West Hollywood or (WeHo) as they so playfully call it, other than it’s what Hillcrest is to San Diego…the gay community. How does a straight girl get her date on when the majority of the folks here are gay?
I had been warned that dating here would be more difficult but truthfully, I have friends that live in all areas of LA…they aren’t having great luck either so I think I’m ok., and the fact is, I don’t live in a bubble, I surely can venture out to date!
In moving here, I feel things are finally back in order. I have my OWN ROOM! lol… nice switch up from my friends living room and from that fashionable and oh so quiet air mattress. Funny how much I appreciate that after not having that for 2 months. I have my fabulous bed again, and I took the master bedroom because my furniture is massive. I love my roommate..simply because she’s been my best friend for the last 11 years now so it works out great!
The Place….
Love it! Very old Hollywood, and my biggest want in finding the right place?Light..lots of it,and boy do we get that here. We get the morning sun which I love and we have views of the Hills and nice views of WeHo so I’m definitely happy. Our neighbors are so friendly. One of them brought us banana bread..who does that?! Every one we see has greeted and welcomed us and has offered their help if we need it. From what I have been told, that’s unheard of. I believe the tone of the “rude” LA has changed because they knew we were coming…yup, I’m sticking to that.
Now that my energy is back to where it should be, we have a great place and work is coming along fine, I feel I may..key word “may” be ready to get out and date again. Half of me really doesn’t want to but everyone keeps saying how “interesting” it is to date out here. I am just do damn curious!
What should I sign up for? Match? Eharmony? Ok Cupid?
I’m always up for new adventures and I have a feeling this big city will have give me plenty…and then some. I’m ready….Lets.do.this.
